Macrobrachium dayanum - chocolate shrimp

I offer my own breeding of Macrobrachium dayanum, also known as chocolate shrimp with claws. Unlike dwarf shrimp, these are active, intelligent, and have very interesting social behavior.

What makes them special?
Appearance: Robust body with beautiful marbling and typical long claws with reddish-brown stripes.
Personality: They have distinct personalities. They constantly explore, are not afraid to show themselves, and are a dominant element in the aquarium.
Resilience: They are very adaptable to various water parameters and essentially do not suffer from diseases.
Breeding: They have direct development (the eggs hatch directly into fully formed small shrimp), so they successfully breed in the aquarium without the need for saltwater.

Important info for breeding:
Size: They grow to 7–9 cm (ideal for aquariums of 50 liters or more).

Coexistence: They are predators. I do not recommend them with small dwarf shrimp, which they might consider prey. They are great companions for faster fish in the upper part of the tank.

Feeding: They will eat everything – bottom fish tablets, frozen food, snails (great helpers against overpopulated detritivores!), and plant leftovers.
