Pyrrhulina laeta are beautiful slender fish. Males grow to about 8 cm, females are slightly smaller. They thrive in aquariums with plants such as echinodorus and ceratopteris. The water should be acidic and soft.

They spawn on surfaces like cichlids, most often on the leaves of plants. The male guards the clutch until hatching. It is a beautiful sight. Occasionally, the male will spawn with two females in succession.

The fish are my own breeding. The parents were caught in the wild, so the young ones are F1.
