The ceramic brick is handmade from very high-quality clay without chamotte and fired at about 1100 °C. The ceramic is stable against both fresh and saltwater and has no effect on water values. All edges are rounded, eliminating the risk of injury to animals from sharp edges.

It is suitable as a hiding place for shrimp, especially during molting when shrimp seek shelter, and for their fry. It can also serve as a hiding place for other small creatures in your aquarium, such as small micro crabs of the genus Limnopilos.

It is also excellent as a substrate for growing mosses or ferns. Plants can be glued or tied to the ceramic using thread or fishing line.

The slightly rough surface of the ceramic provides a very good refuge for bacteria, which contribute to good water quality in the aquarium.
